News Round-Up

Swindon are trialling striker Leon Knight, and midfielder Oliver Risser and Ibrahim Atiku. Knight has been playing in Ireland with Rushden demanding a fee from an English side. Namibian Risser and Ghanian Atiku have been playing in various European leagues. Port Vale have signed striker Ben Williamson and midfielder Ryan Burge. Both were products of Glenn Hoddle's Academy side, with Williamson signing from Bournemouth and Burge costing an undisclosed fee from Doncaster.

Accrington striker Terry Gornell is a target of Inverness. The 21 year old is out of contract and would not net Stanley a fee if he moved to the SPL. Ex-Bull Chris Hargreaves has opened a sportswear shop in Sidmouth. He will combine running the store with his duties coaching Exeter's u16 side. Torquay are reported to be chasing defender Brian Saah and midfielder Craig Easton. Both played for Martin Ling at Leyton Orient with Saah being released by Cambridge and Easton stalling over a new deal at Southend.

Over 500 Plymouth fans attended a meeting last night with the club's Administrator and Peter Ridsdale. Crewe boss Dario Gradi says striker Byron Moore 'seems to have vanished' with him yet to respond to the club's offer of a new two year deal. The Railwaymen have former Bulls loanee Mat Bailey training with the club. He asked to come back to Gresty Road to help him train as he is without a club. Morecambe goalkeeper coach Steve McIlhargey is to also become Fleetwood's keeper coach. He has denied claims he had quit the Shrimps to take up the new role.

Bristol Rovers target Jamie Cureton has signed for Leyton Orient instead. Shrewsbury have signed Accrington defender Joe Jacobson on a two year deal. The 24 year old had been offered a new deal by Stanley but moves on a free transfer. Torquay have signed 20 year old defender Daniel Leadbitter. The former Newcastle trainee is yet to make his first team debut. The Gulls have also confirmed the signing of former loanee Joe Oastler on a two year deal.

Scunthorpe have confirmed the signing of Accrington midfielder Jimmy Ryan on a two year deal. The fee will be decided by a tribunal, with the 22 year old having spent three years at the Crown Ground. Aldershot have brought in Matt Gray and Ashley Bayes as coaches at the club. Gray has spent the last four years at Eastleigh, while veteran keeper Bayes will continue playing for Basingstoke in Conf South.
