Wayne Brown is in talks with Oxford over a player-coach role, according to Sky Sports.

Now 34, Brown had told his Twitter followers he was planning a series of goalkeeper coaching schools after returning from South Africa but is now claimed to be on the verge of agreeing a deal with the U's to become no.2 and coach to first choice keeper Ryan Clarke.

Meanwhile, Toumani Diagouraga is expected to miss Brentford's trip to Edgar Street in the Carling Cup after damaging knee ligaments in Tuesday's friendly match with Hampton and Richmond. The 24 year old Frenchman faces at least two months on the sidelines after catching his studs in the turf in a 'freak accident'.

He may be out longer with a specialist due to assess the injury next week after further tests.
