Hereford United manager Jamie Pitman, speaking to Bulls Player, has said that supporters must judge his team on their league results not on today's friendly.
"The result doesn't mean anything, the result is not the issue. The issue is that we are trying to prepare for next Saturday.
"Monday is a different kettle of fish. It will be a team that is looking to play the following Saturday.
"I've got to decide over the weekend what team I feel is right and what formation is right to into the game at Southend.
"Pre-season is about developing the younger players, trying to get them involved. And it trying to make sure we are right and ready for the following Saturday."
Pitman is hopeful that defender Stefan Stam may play some part against Bolton on Monday evening.
"Stefan had an injection to help his knee settle down. I'm hoping he will be available for at least 45 minutes on Monday.
"Bolton will be a tough test."
