News Round-Up

Crewe are to trial defender Jordan Rose for a second time after turning him down earlier in pre-season. The Railwaymen have signed just one player, goalkeeper Alan Martin, this pre-season. Gillingham have put their search for a new assistant manager on hold so they can spend the funds on a loan striker instead with three of their four senior strikers currently injured.

Cheltenham have seen their final friendly of pre-season on Tuesday at home to West Brom cancelled as the Premier League side have decided they have organised too many games for their squad. The Robins are attempting to arrange another match. Rotherham are claimed to have rejected a £200,000 offer from Sheff Weds for striker Adam Le Fondre.

Solihull Moors have signed former Bulls midfielder Jordan Fitzpatrick and are also trying to tempt Karl Broadhurst out of semi-retirement. The 31 year old sat out last season due to work commitments but new Moors boss Marcus Bignot is hoping he can be tempted back to the game. Port Vale are to sign Rotherham striker Tom Pope after disposing of Justin Richards last week.

Aldershot have signed midfielders Anthony Pulis and Graeme Montgomery on one year deals. Pulis, 27, was released by Southampton in the summer after spending part of last season at Stockport while Montgomery, 23, has just finished two years at Dagenham and had a loan spell at Newport under Shots boss Dean Holdsworth.
