Pitman Post Trophy Defeat

Hereford United manager Jamie Pitman spoke to the press after last night's 4-1 defeat at Bournemouth.

"The young lads got tired and that had an impact on the game," said Pitman.

"But I was pleased with the way we played, particularly in the first 45 minutes.

"The problem was that we could not cope after the break. We got tired in the end and ragged and you cannot do that against opponents from a higher division. There is no doubt I am going to have to get the team a lot fitter than they appear to be at the moment.

"Adam had a thigh strain which he needs to get sorted out and that did not help us, but the truth is that after a bright start we fell away. I was pleased with Barkhuizen who did well in the first half but fitness was a key factor in the outcome."
