News Round-Up

Wrexham have placed striker Andy Morrell in charge of first team affairs after Dean Saunders' departure to Doncaster. The 36 year old is in his second spell at the Racecourse and has been ever-present this season, scoring four times. Swindon say they will listen to offers for striker Billy Bodin after Torquay expressed an interest in a permanent deal for their current loanee. The 19 year old Welsh u21 man has scored twice in five matches for the Gulls.

Plymouth bidder James Brent says he is unlikely to complete his deal by the October 10th date suggested by Peter Ridsdale, but would likely have control of the club a week or two afterwards. Ridsdale is to confirm he will leave the club when the takeover is complete. Meanwhile, Kevin Heaney claims that Truro owe less than £100,000 to the taxman that triggered the winding up order, and the club have had to deny claims that the players have not been paid this month.

Bristol Rovers have signed Leicester teenager Oliver Norburn on a months loan. The 18 year old midfielder is a first year pro and is yet to make his senior debut. Work on Torquay's new grandstand has started this week, several weeks behind schedule. The existing stand was condemned in the summer and will be demolished next month.

Bradford have signed Stoke defender Andrew Davies on an initial months loan. The central defender cost the Premier League side £1million three years ago but has made only two sub appearances since, with his Bantams spell his sixth loan exit. Wrexham's board have issued a statement demanding a non-refundable deposit from the Supporters Trust by Monday or they will open talks with other bidders. A statement claims the WST have been unwilling to meet the board after changing agreed terms in their current deal. A counter statement is expected later.

Cheltenham have loaned defender Andy Gallinagh to Bath for an initial month. The 26 year old was transfer listed in the summer and has not featured for the Robins this term. Macclesfield have loaned striker Vinny Mukendi to Southport for an initial month. The teenager has played 40 times for the Silkmen, mostly from the bench, scoring four times.
