Janos Kovacs wants to stay with Luton Town. The big defender has played every minute of every game since he joined from Hereford United on loan and is hopeful the two clubs can agree a further deal possibly for the rest of the season.
"I want to stay," Kovacs told Bedfordshire on Sunday.
"I love this football club but sometimes it is not that easy. We will see but I want to stay and I think that is important for the club, for me and for the future. Hopefully, early next week – Monday, Tuesday or maybe Wednesday – we will find out.
"I’ve played nine games in a month which was huge. I really like it and all I can do is hope for the best.
"Hereford is a bit of a different story. Yes, they have a new director of football and he might say he wants me back, but he might not, I don’t know. We’ll see where we are next week."
Kovacs reflected about his time with the Bulls.
"I had a chance with Hereford and I made a decision to go there.
"It was a disappointing season, after a good start. I learned a lot of things there, especially mentally. I’m a much stronger person and in football I think that is very important."
Manager Gary Brabin wants to keep Kovacs.
"He’s done really well and we’d like to keep Janos," said Brabin.
"He’s loved every minute of being here and hopefully we can agree something with Hereford where he can be part of our push from now on."
