Miller to Referee at Northampton on Tuesday

Nigel Miller from County Durham has been appointed to referee next Tuesday's League Two match between Northampton Town and Hereford United.

Last April he sent off current Hereford loanee Sam Winnall when the youngster was playing for Burton.

Burton boss Paul Peschisolido is expecting an FA charge after blasting ref Nigel Miller for sending off Sam Winnall last night. The Canadian told the press: "I think I'll probably get done because I've absolutely lambasted the referee"

The Bulls have only met Miller twice in the last four years and both times have been at Tranmere.

The last time was a League One game in April 2009. The Bulls lost this game 2-1, their goal coming from a Steve Guinan penalty in the 90th minute. Miller booked 'Dave' and also sent off former Bull (and recently alledged match-fixer) Steve Jennings who was playing for Tranmere at the time.

The previous meeting was in January 2008 in the FA Cup when the teams drew 2-2. The 4 goals came in a 13 minute burst of activity in the second half. Trevor Benajamin and Ben Smith scored for the Bulls and the only booking was a yellow card for Tranmere's Steve Jennings.

To date this season Miller has been in charge of 13 games in which he has given out 45 yellow cards and two red cards.
