Two Previous Yeovil FA Cup Meets

The Bulls have faced Yeovil Town twice before in the FA Cup.

Back in the 85/86 season, a Bulls side featuring legends Mel Pejic, John Delve, Jimmy Harvey, and Ollie Kearns went to the old Huish Park in the First Round and came away with a 4-2 win thanks largely to a Mike Carter hat-trick.

Then, in the 92/93 season, the Bulls made the trip again with manager Greg Downs in a Second Round tie. The match ended goalless with such luminaries as Max Nicholson, Andy Theodosiou, and David Titterton playing alongside a young Gareth Davies. The replay at Edgar Street saw Yeovil lead for most of the game before Owen Pickard, later to play for the Somerset side, equalised before an 89th minute winner for the visitors.

Of course Pickard is not the only player to have played for both clubs. Bulls boss Jamie Pitman was a team mate of Yeovil manager Terry Skiverton for two seasons in the late 1990's. That side also featured six others to have played for the Bulls: Tony Pennock, Tony Pounder, Ben Smith, David Norton, Adrian Foster, and Murray Fishlock.
