Warm Afternoon for Football

The drinks bottles are likely to needed more than usual at Edgar Street this afternoon as the temperature is expected to rise to around 25C during the game between Hereford United and Oxford United.

And it may well be that the side that can cope better with the heat could come out on top.

Whatever happens Hereford United manager Jamie Pitman faces the task of juggling his squad because of continuing injuries and the non-availability of Simon Clist (pictured at Bristol Rovers), who is on loan from Oxford United and isn't allowed to play in this game.

Yesterday Pitman added Nathan Elder to his squad and given the number of fit players available, he might be given sometime on the pitch.

The former Shrewsbury player will have had time to get to know his team-mates as he has trained with the squad for most of the week.

Off the pitch speculation continues that a director of football might be appointed at Edgar Street. Several names have been suggested on the forums including former Shrewsbury manager Gary Peters. However, as yet, there has been no indication from the club that any announcement is imminent.
