News Round-Up

Barnet have been dealt a blow with striker Steve Kabba likely to miss the remainder of the season as he requires surgery. The 30 year old striker has started only five games this season after opening the season on a rehabilitation programme after another operation last season. Plymouth are hoping to sign defender Darren Purse on loan from Millwall. The veteran has just seen his loan at Yeovil expire, with the Pilgrims having failed to sign him previously due to their transfer embargo.

Dagenham are reported to be set to sign giant defender Exodus Geohaghon on loan from Darlington. The local press reported the player to be present at their weekend loss to Southend. The former Peterboro man has only been at the Conference side for six weeks but is the latest to leave due to their cutbacks. Bradford's attempts to sign striker Paul Benson from Charlton have stalled over financial terms. They have until Thursday to complete a deal with a permanent move likely in the new year.

Bristol Rovers boss Paul Buckle has vowed to fight on after calls for his head following Saturday's 2-0 home loss to Barnet. The former Torquay boss has seen his pre-season promotion candidates drop to 17th place, nine points short of the play-offs. Port Vale's supporters club has called a meeting on Thursday 'in the light of mounting concerns regarding the club's finances'.

Northampton say they have received around 100 applications for their vacant managerial post. Chairman Dennis Cardoza has confirmed an approach for Dover boss Nicky Forster was rejected. Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler says he dropped midfielder Luke Rooney as the 20 year old rejected a new contract with the club. Rooney is out of contract in the summer. The Gills have extended the loan of West Ham forward Franck Nouble for a third and final month.

Burton have signed defender Kristian Ramsey-Dickinson from Midlands Combination side Continental Star. The 22 year old, described on Burton's official site as 'a former Pizza Hut employee', will remain at the club until the summer.
