Ultimately it's about winning games says Pitman

Jamie Pitman has told BBC Hereford and Worcester that the squad are working as hard as they can to put the recent run of defeats behind them.

"The last five or six games we're sitting here saying we should have, could have, would have - it doesn't matter, you have to win games," said the Hereford United manager earlier today.

"Ultimately it's about winning games. Should have, could have, would have will get you relegated."

Reminded that the club can't go another five or six games without winning, Pitman said they knew that.

"We're working as hard as we can to put that right. The spirit within the camp is fantastic."

Pitman was pleased with the improved support last Monday.

"The crowd were fantastic, I have to say that. There were 3,000 people here and a good atmosphere.

"And I think they appreciate that we are not far away. But ultimately they want to see a winning team. We understand that. The players understand that."

Pitman feels it's good that the next game is tomorrow evening.

"We can try and put things right as quickly as possible.

"We always try to pick a team that's going to win a game but also we've got to pick a team that isn't going to lose a game as well because we can't keep going and losing leads like we have done.

"In the last five games we have been leading in four of them while we got back into the Rotherham game.

"We have to make sure that we win those games and understand how to shut out games.

"If that means we have to change personnel, then we will have to change personnel."
