News Round-Up

A bid to take over Darlington rests on current owner Raj Singh covering losses into the summer. A consortium of local businessmen say they would need Singh to fund the club's current £80,000 a month losses until July when they would take over the side. Wimbledon are hoping to sign Crawley midfielder Scott Davies when his loan at Aldershot expires this week. The former Reading man has been with the Shots for two months, starting just four matches.

Dagenham striker Gavin Tomlin is reported to be a target for a trio of fellow League Two sides. The 28 year old signed a six month deal in the summer that expires soon and has been a regular for the Daggers so far this term. Northampton have signed Sunderland defender Blair Adams on an initial one month loan. The 20 year old spent two months at Brentford during the first half of the season, making nine appearances.

Fleetwood are claimed by the Non-League Paper to have rejected a £1million offer for striker Jamie Vardy. The 24 year old has 17 goals in 20 games this term since a reported £175,000 move from Halifax. Dagenham have loaned striker Phil Walsh to Hayes and Yeading for an initial month. The 27 year old has started only four League games this season.

Wrexham's new owners, the Supporters Trust, has told the public that the club still faces a 'huge financial hole' heading into the New Year. They face a £250,000 funding shortfall to complete the season and are urging locals to buy shares under a community share scheme that is hoped will cover the gap, but they have sold less than £40,000 worth so far. Newport chairman Chris Blight says the club is around 500 fans per game short on it's break-even attendances for the season.

Rotherham have signed Chelsea keeper Rhys Taylor on loan for an initial month. The 23 year old, who was with Crewe last season, replaces the departed loanee Conrad Logan. Swindon have released teenage midfielder Matt Clark at the end of his six month contract. He is expected to join Forest Green.

Former Bulls striker Moses Ashikodi has signed for York until the end of the season. The volatile frontman has been a bit-part player since arriving at the club on loan from Kettering.
