Restored to mid-field this afternoon for Hereford United, Harry Pell said the players were over the moon with their 1-0 victory at Dagenham.
"Well we needed it," Pell told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"They are three vital points.
"We know the way Dagenham play and we've come here and got the job done. Really happy."
Yoann Arquin scored the only goal of the game with a bullet-header.
"Arquin is a great player. He's progressing week in week out and I'm happy he has got his goal."
Director of football Gary Peters stated last Tuesday that Pell had to work harder if he wanted to be in the team.
"I never want to stop working. I'll be standing here at 29/30 and I'll still say I'm not the finished article.
"I want to progress and be the best I can possibly be. So if he feels I need to work on something I'll take it on the chin and try my hardest to progress in that area."
After three games with a 'musclar midfield' the Bulls reverted to a 4-5-1 formation this afternoon perhaps partly because of the non-availability of defenders Ryan Green and Benoit Dalibard who were replaced by Simon Clist and Rob Purdie.
"I love playing in a 5 as it gives me licence to get forward.
"We were not exactly flying today but we've come here and got the job done."
