Crawley Lodged A Bid For The Beast

Crawley made a move to sign former Bulls striker Mathieu Manset ahead of yesterday's deadline, the local press have claimed.

Just 12 months after the physical forward departed Edgar Street, Reading named a price for The Beast that the Red Devils were unwilling to match. While manager Steve Evans called fellow ex-Bull Karl Hawley their no.1 target after he signed, the motormouth Scot also had failed moves for Manset, James Constable, Nicky Ajose, and West Ham pair Frank Nouble and Freddie Sears.

The Bulls retain a sell-on clause for the Ivory Coast u23 man. So far this season he has started only four of 16 appearances for the Royals, scoring three goals.
