Port Vale 'Heading For Administration'

Port Vale's local paper voices fans fears this morning that the club is heading for Administration.

Along with Saturday's revelation of a transfer embargo for non-payment of their most recent HMRC bill, the Valiants are in legal action with their current shirt sponsors over a £125,000 loan and the former sponsors of their US tours over their legal obligations from the deal.

Their programme printers are disputing their contract, claiming the club overstated sales, and they are also missing payments on their £2.25million council loan. The Valiants play a home match tomorrow night, with local rivals Crewe visiting Vale Park, and the income from that match will likely help cover the monthly wage bill. However they will also owe the Council £40,000 at the end of the month as well as other debts.

The club are scheduled to have both their AGM and the fan-called EGM in two weeks.
