Purdie Uncertain About Townsend's Red Card

Hereford United defender Michael Townsend received a straight red card for bringing down Alershot's Danny Hilton in the game between the two clubs last night. It was the second red card for Townsend this season.

However team-mate Rob Purdie wasn't sure that it was a sending off.

"Even if it's a free-kick I'm not sure it is a sending off because the ball has run through to Adam Bartlett," Purdie told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"No harm whatsoever as the lad wasn't getting onto it."

Meanwhile BN understands that Kern Miller has left Edgar Street for, as yet, unspecified reasons.
