Cherries Ban Their Local Paper

Bournemouth have taken the step of barring the main local paper in the area.

The Bournemouth Echo say they were told yesterday afternoon that the club had taken the move to ban it's reporters and photographer from Dean Court, just days after it was banned from post match press conferences.

The paper claims manager Lee Bradbury, who the majority of fans want removed according to two seperate online polls, phoned the paper to complain about it's coverage last week - one of several calls the rookie boss had made to grumble at their coverage. Chairman Eddie Mitchell had also made complaints about the 'unfair and negative' coverage of his drunken outbursts and, the paper claims, he attempted to dictate the paper's coverage of the Cherries.

The paper say it's coverage of the club has been worth over £800,000 over the last three years at normal advertising rates, and that it had covered the club for over 100 years.

On the pitch, former Bulls loanee Lyle Taylor was a 15th minute sub for the Cherries in their win over Brentford. He played 70 minutes before being withdrawn himself late on, suggesting any hopes of a return to Edgar Street are slim.
