News Round-Up

What with it being April Fools Day it's occasionally hard to sift the real and false stories. Plymouth claimed they were to build a new grandstand entirely out of wood as a commeration of the ship The Mayflower. Bury were to lift the entirety of their Gigg Lane home up and rotate it, while a variety of Rotherham sites claimed it was down to either Alex Ferguson or Andre Villas Boas to be their next manager.

In the real world, or Crawley at least, manager Steve Evans claims he had a defender ready to sign on Friday after their team was hit by the brawl suspensions. The free agent, Evans claims, had played in the Premier League last season but the FA refused permission as only an emergency keeper is now allowed to sign.

Wycombe have been hit with a transfer embargo after failing to supply their accounts on time. While the embargo will do little with the transfer window being closed it has seen two club directors, who were the Supporters Trust representatives, quit the board as their positions were 'untenable'. The club's owner says the accounts have been delayed due to the imminent sale of Wasps rugby side.

Luton have sacked manager Gary Brabin after their loss to York on Friday night. The Hatters are now three points outside the play-off spots after dropping 13 of the last 15 points. The ever-lovable Preston boss Graham Westley is reported to be on the verge of an early exit from Deepdale after he claimed to the press that four of his players had leaked team tactics and formation to rivals Sheff Weds before their 2-0 loss at Hillsborough. Westley has won just two of 15 games in charge of the club.
