News Round-Up

One Supporters Trust has relinquished control of a club as another takes over theirs. Brentford is in private hands again after the Trust there sold their 60% controlling stake to fan Matthew Bentham. Bentham, who is putting £1million a year into the Bees, now owns 96% of the club and is to build a new stadium two miles away from their current Griffin Park home.

Taking over their club is Wycombe's Supporters Trust, who has bought the club and ground for a nominal fee from owner Steve Hayes. The Trust will split the Adams Park ground and their training facility from the club itself in order to safeguard the property for the future, while operating the club on a break-even basis.

Newport have confirmed the signing of released Wimbledon midfielder Max Porter. The 25 year old ended the season on loan with the Exiles and has signed a one year deal. Aldershot are to put a 250 seat temporary stand on the blank end of their Recreation Ground home to meet Football League demands for 2,000 seats.

Ebbsfleet manager Liam Daish has told the BBC the strength of Dartford and Dover means he is missing out on his transfer targets. Daish has made only one signing so far this summer, but has lost four of his squad to better offers. Wrexham have sold over 1,800 season tickets with their early bird sales period closing today. They say it is their best sales for 30 years.
