Purkiss Says Thanks And Goodbye

Bulls out of contract full back Ben Purkiss has told his Twitter followers that he is not returning to the club following negotiations.

The former Oxford man was reported at the Fans Forum to have held talks with boss Martin Foyle, but has this lunchtime reported that he will be seeking pastures new:

"Unfortunately I will not be able to return to Hereford United this coming season. I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone at the club for being so welcoming. I wish I'd have had the opportunity to sign sooner. Would like to thank the Chairman, Lee, the office staff, Gary Peters, Jamie Pitman, Houlty, Sneeks, the ROK, Ross, the players and the fans. Such a genuine club. Thank you for your support.

You're in the best possible hands. Foyle is excellent and knows the league inside out. Porter complements him perfectly- an excellent coach."

Purkiss, 28, made 15 appearances for the Bulls after signing a short term deal following his Oxford release. He has been linked with Mansfield, and is also rumoured to have had interest from Grimsby.
