BN has received the following from the winners of places on the team coach to Wrexham:
We (Andrew Boucher & Huan Davies) would just like to say a very big thank you to Hereford United FC for allowing us onto the team coach to Wrexham FC on Saturday. We were greeted very warmly by the Chairman (David Keyte), the directors (Dave Preedy & Grenville Smith), Roger Lloyd the kit man, Jamie G, all the players, Richard Prime (Hereford Times) and the driver.
On the way up the A49 we were treated to a choice of chicken pasta or lasagne meal, washed down with a lovely cup of tea or coffee with a few chocky treats that went down very nicely.
We stopped at Bayston Hill roundabout Garden centre to pick up some more players on the way. Then as part of my (Andy B) terms & conditions (as read out by Luke Graham), performed a no. of the lads favourite songs in front of them towards the back of the coach whom I must say were in fine voice, joining in with me (led by Harry Pell) to the chorus of Wonderwall. A special mention goes to Quilks who prompted me on 1 or 2 lyrics of songs along the way. Then finally a rendition of dad's (Danny Lee) 'Hereford United we all love you' had to be done to get the lads really fired up just before entering Wrexham.
Mr D & I helped move kit, balls, water bottles, etc off the coach and into the away changing room where upon we met and were greeted very warmly by the gaffer (Martin Foyle) and his assistant (Andy Porter).
We were then escorted by Dave Preedy into the Centenery bar for a few beers before going into the ground to watch the match. The 250 supporters that were there sang there hearts out throughout most of the match. The only time I heard the Wrexham fans was when they equalised. In recent times we would have crumpled at this point but we came out fighting even more and managed to get the winner deep into injury time. Don't forget, Wrexham are a good side with seasoned pros and aren't 2nd for nothing. Tactically, we are very difficult to beat at this present and long may it continue. The players applauded the fans at the end and I can tell you now that they really do appreciate it. We, the supporters, really are the 12th man.
We then helped move kit from the changing room back onto the coach.
Met up with Colin Addison and Peter Isaccs and then to cap it all, shook hands with 'SuperMac' Dixe McNeil who was my boyhood hero when I first started watching the Bulls in 1976.
We were joined on the coach back by Dodge (Physio) and Nibbo (photographer). A Fantastic result making the journey back that much sweeter. The Pizza was well received by all and also another rendition of the lads favourite songs went down nicely too.
At Shrewsbury, when the coach dropped some of the players off, Mr D & I had photos taken by Nibbo with the goal scorers Chris Todd & Luke Graham. We would like to wish Chris all the best as he has most certainly contributed to our defence since his loan spell with us and hopefully with a bit of luck, see him back with us in the January window. We were back home in Hereford in no time at all.
Once again, Huan & I would like to thank HUFC for a wonderful time, it was worth every penny and would recommend this experience to anyone bidding for future trips away.
All the very best to HUFC,
Andy Boucher & Huan Davies
P.S. I Won't forget the guitar next time!!!
P.P.S And Mr D won't forget his boots!!!
