Hereford United director Nic Nenadich is still looking for someone to lead the Malvern Walkers through the city centre on Saturday.
Ideally he is looking for a musical group but a lone trumpeter would be very welcome.
"There are a lot of people who have put a lot of time and effort and a huge amount of committment into this walk," Nenadich told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"I think it's only fair and fitting that we herald them into the city and give me a bit of razzamataz because I'm sure the last leg they'll be flagging a bit, they'll have sore feet and that will be a real lift.
"If we could find somebody who could do that, only from the top of Aylestone Hill down through the city centre and to the club."
Nenadich told the station that fundraising was needed because the club had struggled financially this season after relegation
"Jon and Will Hale said they'll organise a sponsored walk from Malvern and it has snowballed.
"They've raised over £6K in pledges and they've got quite a band of followers
"They are setting off at stupid o-clock on Saturday morning to walk to the club.
"They are going to be bucket shaking along the way.
"Jon tells me that if anybody along the road gives them a friendly hoot he's personally going to put a £1 in for every honk he gets."
