News Round-Up

Newport are reported to be on the verge of signing Wimbledon striker Christian Jolley on loan. The 24 year old former Kingstonian man was reported yesterday to be on the verge of a move to Portsmouth, but that was denied by boss Neil Ardley. Llanelli's under 19 side has withdrawn from it's youth league as the club struggle to field a side, and their former bar manager is up in court accused of stealing over £20,000 from the side.

Chester have reported turnover of over £900,000 and a small loss of £2,970 for their second season since reforming. They had reported a profit of over £100,000 for their first season, but had increased costs in the second year as they increased capacity at the Deva Stadium and started up a youth side. Portsmouth's Administrator has signed a conditional deal to sell the club to their Supporters Trust. The deal hinges on the Administrator getting court approval to sell Fratton Park after Portpin rejected the Trust's offer.

At a meeting of Truro City's creditors, the girlfriend of bankrupt former club owner Kevin Heaney claimed she was owed £1million by the club. Two further companies previously linked to Heaney were also claiming nearly £500,000 between them. Corby have opened talks with Kettering over a £1,000 a game rental of their Steel Park home for the remainder of the season. The Steelmen have around £200,000 of debt that the money would help pay off.

Grimsby striker Anthony Elding has joined Preston on loan until January. The 30 year old reunited with former manager Graham Westley, with the move expected to be made permanent in January. Kidderminster say that striker Jamille Matt has been granted permission to stay in the country by the UK Border Office, and they are awaiting Conference approval to play him in this weekend's match with Telford.
