News Round-Up

Hearts are reported to need £2million to complete the season after the club's Lithuanian owner withdrew funding to the club. They have a week to find £450,000 to pay an outstanding debt to the taxman, and are selling a 10% stake in the club to fans for nearly £1.8million. Shrewsbury have sent loan defender Michael Hector back to Reading, but the youngster will remain on loan until January as they cannot cancel his deal. The Shrews have signed former striker Luke Rodgers on loan until January.

Portsmouth's former owner Portpin has suspended it's bid for the club, saying it is pointless to continue while the Administrator is in talks with the Supporters Trust. A critical statement claims that the club's period in Administration has cost £3million, with Administrators PKF charging £100,000 a week for it's services. Luton boss Paul Buckle is toying with a new game plan of playing only two defenders in matches. Winger Andre Gray, throwing his toys out of the pram on Twitter post-match, accused the Bulls of parking 'da double decker bus' in front of goal, with Buckle acknowledging it is taking longer to break teams down.

Cambridge have signed goalkeeper Jed Steer on an initial months loan from Norwich. The 20 year old has played twice for the Canaries in the FA Cup as well as a loan spell at Yeovil last term. U's boss Richard Money has said the abuse he received from fans in the wake of Tuesday's 6-2 hammering by Newport was the worst he has ever received. In a month at the Abbey Stadium, Money has won only the opening game of six and is on a three game losing streak.

Mansfield have loaned out two more players. Former Luton man Jamie Hand has joined Eastbourne for an initial month, while former youth team captain Jobe Shaw has joined Sheffield FC. Club captain Adam Murray, also the club's assistant boss, has agreed a one year extension to his current deal. Accrington have signed veteran striker James Beattie as player/coach until January. The 34 year old former England international ended last season on a short term deal at Sheff Utd.

Hyde have signed Blackburn keeper Christopher Dilo on a youth loan. The French teenager can play for the Championship's side u18 and u21 sides during the loan.
