No Need For Purdie To Travel On Team Bus

Former Hereford United utility player Rob Purdie still lives in the city despite moving to Shrewsbury Town last summer.

And, assuming he is selected for Graham Turner's side on Saturday, he says he will walk to the ground as opposed to travelling in the team coach.

"I'm going to walk to the ground in my Shrewsbury tracksuit as the ground is that close to my apartment," Purdie told the Shropshire Star.

"It's only three or four minutes walk so I'm going to walk with my bag.

"I left on good terms in the summer even though coming to Shrewsbury there is a bit of rivalry.

"I enjoyed my time there and I'll be looking forward to seeing a few of the lads I know and other people around the place."

As for the game itself, Purdie feels it's a great FA Cup draw.

"You couldn't have got a much better tie really although it's a tough one for us going down to Hereford with the rivalry.

"However, anything can happen in the FA Cup."
