Ricky George Hopes For Big Cup Crowd

Ricky George is hoping that Edgar Street will be full for tomorrow's FA Cup Tie against Shrewsbury Town.

"A big crowd cheering them on gives them a much greater chance of beating the League One side and getting another draw, " George told BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"If they can get through the second round and then the third round and who knows the troubles may be less than they are now.

"As with all these things, particularily with Hereford United and the history of the club and the FA Cup which means so much to everyone in Hereford, there's a golden opportunity.

"And it's ironical that it's come up at the eleventh hour with this home game against Shrewsbury."

Meanwhile the former Hereford United star has also said he will at an event arranged by the London Bulls.

"They are holding a fund-raising evening for the club on December 7th.

"I'm going to be there and I'm hoping to get Billy Meadows along with me as he is the other London-based player who was in the Giant-killers squad.

"We'll go there and do whatever we can.

"I think there will be a question and answer session.

"May be the fact that he and I will be there will draw a bigger crowd."
