Supporters Walk For The Bulls Today

Today's walk from Malvern to Edgar Street could raise as much as £8,000 for Hereford United especially if there are plenty of supporters with collecting buckets along the route.

Jon Hale from Malvern, a lifelong Hereford United fan, came up with the idea some weeks ago after it was annouced that the club had serious financial problems.

Initially Jon felt he might raise £2k or £3K but the idea has taken off to such an extent that over £6.5K has already been pledged.

The walkers left Malvern around 7.00am and arrive at Edgar Street around 2pm.

The itinery:

8am - Top of Ridgeway Hill, Cradley
10.30am -  Newtown Crossroads
12.15pm - Railway Bridge Garden Centre near Whitestone
1.30pm - Broadlands Lane, Aylestone Hill
1.45pm - High Town, Hereford

Ten supporters are hoping to complete the whole walk. They are former players Stewart Phillips and Gareth Davies, club historian Ron Parrott, club photographer Steve Niblett along with Chris Styles, Gemma Eckley, Claire Phillips, Stacey Cole, and Jon Hale.

Two former players, Tony Bryne and Tommy Hughes, will join in for the last mile.

The walkers will be met at Edgar Street by director Nick Nenadich and a reception will take place in the Starlite Rooms. Supporters are invited.

BBC Hereford and Worcester will be covering the walk and BN hope to have some photos from the walk on-line later.
