Chairman David Keyte alongside Colin Addison at Lincoln |
Hereford United chairman David Keyte was interviewed for the Five Live Non-League Programme on the way back from Lincoln yesterday evening.
"Bit unlucky today, played some good stuff, scored two good goals," said Keyte.
"Goalkeeping error, penalty against us, own goal saw us losing 3-2 which is a shame."
The interview then turned to the forthcoming FA Cup game being on TV.
"It's a god-send really
"It's £68K which should get us two-thirds of the way through to our debt to the taxman.
"We've got to wait for the TV money, I think they pay out after the completion of the round, we can get sorted then.
"The supporters have been tremendous. I think we have raised about £23K.
"I know there is a group walking from Malvern to Hereford next week. I believe they have raised about £5K already."
Ketye is unhappy about having so few home matches at present which is having a big effect on income.
"We haven't got a Saturday home fixture for ten weeks. The last one was Braintree on October 13th and we go through to December 29th against Newport.
"Would a high street shop stay open for ten weeks if somebody said your front door is shut?
"We've got a thriving supporters club but it's hand to mouth and this has made it that much harder.
"We've had two away fixtures, we're away in the Trophy next week, we're away in the FA Cup the following week, then away in the League after that.
"That's just the way it has fallen"
