News Round-Up

Luton have signed former loanee Jonathan Smith from York on a permanent deal. The 25 year old has cost the Hatters £50,000, signing an 18 month deal at Kenilworth Road. Hatters boss Paul Buckle has also confirmed an interest in signing Christian Jolley, but has downplayed speculation over former Grimsby loanees Ross Hannah and Nathan Pond. Buckle says he has enough strikers, while Fleetwood want to keep Pond.

Mansfield have released youth team graduates Jobe Shaw, Joe Holland, and Scott Rogers at the expiry of their six month deals. The Stags have also allowed midfielder Jamie Hand to join Hayes and Yeading on a months loan. Grimsby are waiting on an answer from Bradford over a third cash offer for striker Ross Hannah, but joint boss Rob Scott has denied that the club is interested in Hull midfielder Jamie Devitt, another former loanee at Blundell Park.

Lincoln boss David Holdsworth says he is under no pressure to sell striker Jamie Taylor despite rumours of interest from other clubs. Holdsworth says he has no plans for the January window and has not asked for any additional funds to buy new players. Telford boss Andy Sinton says that winger Jon Brown, a summer trialist for the Bulls, is to emigrate and will be the third player to leave the club in two weeks.
