Alfreton manager Nicky Law complained about his side's lack of attacking prowess following their loss to Wrexham in midweek.
The former Bulls defender spent three months at Edgar Street at the end of his playing career, making 15 appearances before calling it a day in January 1997. He joined the Reds as manager in May 2007, taking them out of Conf North as champions in 2011 and to a 14th place finish in their first Conference season last term.
After Tuesday's loss he bemoaned his side's attacking ability: “I think we started off the better team then they came back into it and got a poor goal from our perspective. Then again we came back into it and got a good goal and you think you are going to go on and win it.
“They get a man sent off, which is not always a good thing, but when they did we were just void of any ideas, void of anyone to go and make something happen. Nathan Arnold has had a glorious opportunity to put us 2-1 up but it doesn’t go in and that just gives them a little bit more belief.
“We have gone from back to front too long. We have tried to get people wide and get pushed on and they haven’t done that. Call it what you want, lack of belief, lack of skill, lack of killer instinct, whatever you want, but that is what we have shown tonight.
“Yes it was against a side who have just gone on to 50 points and top of the table and for me there was nothing between the two teams. But, they have ground it out and we haven’t. That’s why we have got a little bit of a weakness.”
Law has had a quiet month in the transfer market so far, extending defender Ross Killock's loan and releasing winger Simon Russell.
