Grimsby boss Paul Hurst says Joe Colbeck's £1,500 fine for comments on Twitter was out of proportion. Hurst says the comment was about an X Factor judge.
Wrexham and Grimsby are reported by the York press to be interested in Minstermen striker Jamie Reed. Conference sponsors Blue Square have been put up for sale by owners Rank. The loss-making arm was bought for £63million ten years ago but is expected to be sold for less. The Conference say they will be meeting with Rank and BlueSq next week to discuss the ongoing sponsorship. Luton have been beaten by Plymouth for the services of defender Guy Branston. The 34 year old has signed a deal to the end of the season, choosing the club because his home remains in Devon from his spell at Torquay.
