Hereford United chairman David Keyte has admitted that staff have not received their pay for the month of March. With just 662 at last Tuesday's match, the club did not even have enough income to pay the expenses for the evening.
"We have not been able to meet the wage-bill this month," Keyte told the Hereford Times.
"We have come up with a hardship scheme whereby if any of the staff are desperate to pay their mortgage, or whatever, on the first of the month they will get some of their money."
This afternoon's gate and other takings should mean the staff will receive some money this week but the situation remains difficult.
"Whenever we get something in, then they will get some more," said the chairman.
Keyte is hopeful sales of season tickets will help bridge the gap.
