Macc Fixture Usually Sees Managerial Change

When the Bulls face Macclesfield these days at least one of the sides usually has some managerial upheaval.

The opening day encounter this season saw both Martin Foyle and Steve King take charge of their first competitive encounters, while tomorrow will see John Askey take charge of the Silkmen after King's dismissal midweek. The one club man who first arrived at the club as a player in 1984, played over 700 games for the club before a variety of off-field roles including manager, assistant manager and, more recently, youth team boss.

Last season the Bulls unveiled Richard O'Kelly for their trip to Moss Rose, with a Will Evans thunderbolt coming in the first 60 seconds of his reign. In 2010 current Lincoln boss Gary Simpson took charge of his first game following Keith Alexander's death at Edgar Street, with John Trewick being sacked by the Bulls two days after.

The Bulls have drawn their last two trips to Moss Rose, but won only one of six visits. Theo Robinson's goal gave the Bulls the win in 2007 with former Bull Danny Thomas and then future Bull Jamie Tolley in the Silkmen squad.

Of their current squad, the Silkmen have former Bulls loanee Waide Fairhurst in their squad as well as a pair of former trialists. John-Paul Kissock played a friendly match for the Bulls in the summer of 2010, while Matthew Barnes-Homer played a reserve game in 2004.
