Aldershot's Administrator expects to miss the deadline to get their CVA through before the Conference AGM.
The self-imposed June 1st deadline was set in order to avoid the tough rules on insolvency in the fifth tier. The Administrator expects to now miss the deadline, leaving the club at the threat of demotion at the end of the season, but remains 'optimistic of Conference football' being played by the club in the coming season.
A rescue bid by the Shots' Supporters Trust is still gathering pace, while the Administrator has given little detail on talks it has had with other 'genuine potential buyers'.
The local press claim that just two players were paid for April with club captain Ben Herd, one of those made redundant, telling Get Hampshire: “It’s difficult for us players to fathom just how we can be made redundant when there is a position in the squad which will be filled by someone else next season. It’s not like a normal 9-5 job.”
