Kovacs Surprised By Luton Release

Former Bull Janos Kovacs says he is 'shocked and surprised' by his release by Luton.

The Hungarian acknowledged that John Still had a difficult decision to make, telling the local press: “He was in the situation where there were too many centre-halves already in contract and I was the unlucky one whose contract was running out at the end of the season and an easy one to get rid of.”

Meanwhile, fellow former Bull Dan Preston is surprised that he has been kept on at Telford. The former Birmingham trainee, 21, told the Shropshire Star:

“After the Hereford game, when Lee Carter said they wanted to keep me on I was surprised because not many players have been kept on so far.

“I said I would love to carry on here. I think we have got to look to go straight back up. I have spoken to Liam who said he wanted to take up the option on me.

“I thought I played well this season but as we weren’t getting results it does knock your confidence a bit.”
