Bulls target Richard Brodie chose hometown club Gateshead over the Bulls due to the distance involved.
In an interview with Gateshead's official site, the striker confirmed he had trained with the Bulls but ruled them out despite the lure of working with Martin Foyle again:
"I trained with Hartlepool, Gateshead and Hereford, who are managed by my former York boss Martin Foyle, but Hereford is a fair old distance from the North East."
The full interview, where he says money was not the factor in his decision of where to go, is on the Gateshead site.
