Ex-Bulls Spotted On Trial

A couple of ex-Bulls have been spotted on trial at League sides.

With the Football League starting a week earlier than the Conference this season, most sides returned to training this week. James McQuilkin has been spied in pictures put up by Walsall on their Facebook page of their opening day of training.

Steve Leslie is at Torquay trying to earn a deal along with former Gulls loanee Jordan Robertson and ex-Accrington loanee Aris Nsiala. The Gulls have lost the services of former Bulls trialist Ian Morris, with the winger joining Northampton, while another former trialist, Burton's Jacques Maghoma, has signed for Sheff Weds.

Elsewhere, Newport - who are rumoured to have spoken to James Bittner - say they will have four different keepers in to trial to be backup to first choice Lenny Pidgley. The Exiles are also trialling ex-Cheltenham midfielder Jamie Edge, and former Shrewsbury and Southampton striker Ryan Doble.

Meanwhile, one keeper target for the Bulls is set to stay with his current club. Herefordian Lee Burge is set to be Coventry's regular back-up keeper for the coming season, ending hopes of a loan deal.
