Former Chester owner Stephen Vaughan is reported to be in talks to take over League One side Oldham.
Vaughan, the first person to fail the FA's Fit and Proper Person Test, has been exiled in Maltese football over the last year after failing in a reported bid to buy Wrexham. Vaughan is reported to still be banned from acting as a company director in the UK after receiving an 11 year ban in 2009 and is unlikely to pass the FA's test with such a ban still ongoing.
Spokesman for the consortium Alan Keeling admitted to the BBC that there 'are some stumbling blocks people should know about' and that talks had been ongoing for some months.
