Shots Fans Hear Trust Bid Proposal

Over 300 Aldershot fans packed a local hotel last night to hear from the club's Supporters Trust about its bid to buy the club.

The Trust told fans that it had received 800 expressions of interest in investing in their bid to buy the club. They are looking at securing £500,000 in order to make a firm bid, with pledged funds being held in an escrow account until sufficient pledges had been received.

Attendees were told that the club had expected a loss of £300,000 for last season, but gates fell below expectations and losses spiralled out of control following Dean Holdsworth's sacking in February. The club's Administrators were budgeting for 1,940 gates for the coming season after managing an average of 2,271 last season.

Meanwhile, Kidderminster have announced the appointment of Jon Harris as General Manager. Harris left Macclesfield at the end of last week after acting as their Chief Executive, and also held positions at Shrewsbury and Wrexham.
