Hereford United manager Martin Foyle wasn't too happy with his injury hit squad's performance at Alfreton this afternoon but he said that part of the problem was down to the fact that Alfreton used bullying tactics.
BBC Hereford and Worcester's Keith Hall suggested to Foyle it was a disappointing result for the Bulls.
"More so the late goal really when we had the ball.
"We gave both goals away today.
"Frankie tried a little back flick in the wrong areas and then towards the end with four minutes to go we are trying to play it along the back.
Ankle Injury For Danny Leadbetter |
"We were out of sorts today, there were just so many knocks and so many people out of place. It was probably a game to far at the wrong time.
"Today was another bully game. Did we deal with it, no we didn't deal with it as well as we should have done."
Foyle was without several players including Rod McDonald who has gone owen with a virus.
"He was ill, Ranks sore knee, Pilks hamstring and now Josh O'Keefe probably has a broken arm. The list is endless.
Against the run of play Chris Sharp scored an equaliser on the stroke of half-time.
"It was an out of jail card but it didn't change my team talk at all.
"We were poor first half, too casual on the ball, didn't put any passes together.
"They played very narrow and tight and went long and, believe me, were hard to play against."
Hereford started the second half a little brighter.
"We knew they would drop off and we knew we would have chances to get the ball out wide but did we really get any mean crosses into the box? No really, they were behind or cut out.
"I've got no complaints because Alfreton probably deserved to win."
"A little bit short of match fitness, he had two great chances.
"I can't ask the lad for two much as he's just walked into the changing room today."
Hall then reminded Foyle that as he had used all three substitutes and Leadbetter had picked up his injury, 'did it not go through your mind to drop Rob Purdie back to right back?'
"I didn't want to go down to ten men (Leadbetter stayed on the pitch although injuried).
"Sam Gwynne is a right back so it's really horses for courses at the right time and Purds was limping towards the end as well."
Hall tried again: 'I thought it might have been possible to just put Leadbetter further up, don't put him in an area where he could be pressurised because they scored from the resulting throw-in.'
"Yes, but that was his fault on the ball wasn't it. I can't make players pass balls can I."
