Barnet have banned local paper the Barnet Times from the club after they published a story about unpaid wages at the club on Friday.
A new system of clocking in and out was implemented at the club over the summer, with staff finding out only on payday that the system had failed to pay them up to £300 of their monthly pay. Staff told the paper the new system was faulty, and had been out of action for several periods, but had been told by the club that they would only be paid for shifts not recorded once CCTV evidence had been examined.
The paper also revealed that staff were also being forced to pay for parking at the ground during their shifts.
The move to ban the Times, which says it has covered the club for over 100 years, means that both local papers are now banned by the club.
Update: The ban on the 'Barnet Times Series newspaper' was lifted this afternoon. Barnet FC say their dispute is with the news department and not the sports department.
