He might only have come on as a sub for Cardiff in the last minutes of their historic win over Manchester City this afternoon, but just four seasons ago Jordan Mutch was on a youth loan at Edgar Street.
Mutch joined the Bulls on 26 November 2009 on a Football League Youth Loan, an arrangement which allowed the player to appear for Birmingham's reserve and youth teams on days when Hereford had no fixture.
He went straight into the starting eleven for Hereford's second round FA Cup match, at home to Colchester United two days later, and played the whole of the game, which Hereford lost to a stoppage-time goal.
On December 2nd Mutch played for the full ninety minutes in a League Two match at Northampton and was involved in two of Hereford's three goals.
Another Valentine/Pugh combination forced a corner on the left from which The Bulls drew level. Jordan Mutch swung over the flag kick to the far post, which was met on the volley by Manset. Although the striker’s effort was blocked, it fell to Darren “no-nonsense” Jones who fired into the bottom corner from 10 yards. One apiece and not looking bad at all.
On 55 minutes, The Bulls took the lead. Akinfenwa conceded a free-kick some 35 yards from goal. Jordan Mutch stepped up to hit a thunderous drive which home keeper, Chris Dunn, could only parry upwards. Manset was the quickest to react as he headed over the line from a couple of feet.
