Hereford Will Be Good For West Says Davis

Michael West At Alfreton Last Monday
Crewe manager Steve Davis is hopeful that Michael West will benefit from his loan spell with Hereford United which started last Monday.

West moved to Crewe from Ebbsfleet just over twelve months ago but has failed to break into their first team so far.

"Westy had gone out and played on Monday. It's good for him to get some game time," said Davis as reported by the Sentinel.

"Mike knows the competition around his position at the moment and he recognises, and I recognise, the importance of him playing some competitive games.

"He hasn't had that for a while. For him to develop and force his way into the team here he needs to get out there and play real matches. It will be good for him."

22 year old Davis played for the first 68 minutes in Hereford's game at Alfreton on Monday.

With the current injury situation at Edgar Street, West could play the full ninety minutes in Hereford's next game which is at home against Welling United on Saturday.
