News Round-Up

Yoann Arquin scored for Notts County as they took Liverpool to extra time in the League Cup last night. Former Bulls loanee Byron Webster also scored for Yeovil to take their game with Birmingham into extra time, but the matter was shrouded in controversy with the goal coming after the Blues had put the ball out for an injury. An argument ensued, with Yeovil eventually gifting the Championship side a goal in extra time to level matters before going out on penalties.

Alfreton say they are in talks with an Asian-based consortium over investment into the club. The Reds have pushed the boat out financially this summer, agreeing big money deals with the likes of John Akinde and John McGrath. Hyde have released midfielder Tunji Moses by mutual consent. The 29 year old is seeking regular football after nearly three years as a bit-part player with the Tigers.

Alfreton have signed two more players, bringing in teenager Jack Andrews and 21 year old Jay McFadzean. Left sided utility player Andrews was released by Nottm Forest in the summer while McFadzean, whose two brothers both play for League sides, is the third member of his family to play for the Reds.

There are no Bulls in the England C squad to face Latvia on September 10th. The full squad is McDonald (Braintree), Walker (Dover), Oastler (Aldershot), Wood (Alfreton), Everton-Richards (Tamworth), Dunkley (Kiddy), Andrew (Macclesfield), Dean, Armson (Nuneaton), Dunk, Berry, Donaldson (Cambridge), Marsh-Brown, Hyde (Barnet), Norwood, Taylor (Forest Green).
