More Cuts At Edgar Street Expected This Week

More cuts are expected at Edgar Street this week in an effort to try and get a little closer to balancing the books.

Last week some part-time staff had their hours cut and the Addisons Bar will not open as frequently.

However it's understood that more cuts could be announced as early as Tuesday.

Whilst no-one will speak on the record, getting through the next few weeks will be a tough challenge for the board unless someone comes in with some cash and/or some serious cut-backs are made.

Wages are due for both players and staff this week and as well as the day to day bills there will be VAT and PAYE to settle shortly.

If there is any undue delay then the club could face a transfer embargo.

One bright note is that the Bulls have a home game this coming Tuesday and an all-pay Trophy Tie on Saturday, although the proceeds are split from this game.

So some cash will be available to the board.

But it won't be enough.

Where the cuts will be made remain to be seen, but it's being suggested that they may take place both on and off the pitch.

Meanwhile however bad the cuts are the club needs to work together to try and stabilise the situation says director Nick Nenadich who has led the way by donating half his loan to the club. He's also considering converting the other half of his loan into shares.

"That would assist with the balance sheet in encouraging investment," Nenadich told BN.

"I would again stress the need for unity and some positivity where ever we can find it."

Some much needed positivity will come if the Bulls can defeat Halifax on Tuesday evening and Woking in the Trophy on Saturday.

And if former player Sam Clucas, now at Mansfield, keeps scoring goals maybe there's just a chance someone will come in for him and the Bulls will receive 15% of the sell-on.
