League Two strugglers Torquay have sacked boss Alan Knill.
The Gulls are currently 23rd in League Two, a point inside the relegation zone having played a game more than many of their rivals. They had gone on a run of just one win in 12 games before back-to-back wins over Southend and Dagenham pulled them out of the bottom two before earning just a point from three Christmas games to put them back in trouble.
Head of Youth Geoff Harrop will take charge of Saturday's game, with assistant Chris Brass having already departed before Christmas to return to Bury.
The Bulls are currently loaning midfielder Damon Lathrope from the Gulls, and his future is likely to be decided by whoever they appoint to replace Knill. Ex-Bull Chris Hargreaves, also in the frame at rock-bottom Northampton, is expected to be interested in the job.
