Edwards Leaves UITC

Community Trust Press Release:

Community Trust manager Jamie Edwards set to leave after 7 years at helm.

United in the Community, formerly the Hereford United Community Trust, will be formally re-launched on Friday, June 6th. This will see a series of new trustees joining the Board following the appointments of Bob Pritchard, Nick Vaughan and Nick Nenadich last month.

The re-launch also coincides with the sad news that Jamie Edwards, after many years to commitment to the Trust, will be leaving us over the summer. The club would like to place on record its thanks for Jamie’s service to the community.

Working alongside the new owner Tommy Agombar, a new roster of coaches will be put in place for the 2014/15. The Trust hopes to retain the services of all other, remaining coaches.

Nick Nenadich, Chair of United in the Community, said: “As I’m sure many young kids, parents and schools would testify, Jamie has been a terrific ambassador for the club and the growing success of the Trust, despite cutbacks in recent seasons, is testament to his drive to see to increased participation of football throughout Herefordshire. I wish Jamie every success”

Nick Vaughan, Vice-Chair of United in the Community said: “Whilst it is only a few weeks since my appointment as a Trustee it has soon become clear how well respected Jamie is – particularly amongst the many players and parents he has worked with over many years. He added: “The Trust looks forward to working with our new owner Tommy Agombar on developing all the teams – from U12s to U18s over the coming season”

Jamie Edwards said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Hereford United Football Club for the opportunity to lead the Community Trust over the past 7 years.  Along the way I have worked, coached and met some wonderful people.

"I truly believe that the Trust has evolved into one of the best programmes in the Football Conference and deserves recognition for this. Furthermore it now has the foundation to become something the club and fans can be truly proud of.

“Finally I would like to thank the trustees and staff I have worked with, their work really does go unheard of and without them the Football Club’s Community would be nothing.”

Edwards has been appointed "Head of Community Development" at Shrewsbury Town this morning.
