HUST Call On Fans To Contact Councillors

Dear Member,

HUST is calling on all it's members, and the wider community and fanbase, to contact their Councillors to object to the attempts by the new owners of the football club to try and move the leases of Edgar Street from the ownership of the club to their own company.

The prospect of losing the only venue for professional football in the entire County of Herefordshire is unthinkable and, after already losing the functionality of the Racecourse, Herefordshire Council must do all it can to protect the Edgar Street site for future generations.

We urge you to contact your Councillors and the Leader of the Council, Tony Johnson, to tell them that no transfer of any leases should be allowed until the club has cleared it's footballing debts, all winding up petitions, debts to the Council, and secured a place within the Southern League for the coming season.

The new owners have repeatedly promised payment of these sums. All these promises have, so far, proved hollow. We do not believe that a written assurance, as sought by the Council in their latest press release, is sufficient proof to transfer the leases away from the people of Herefordshire for a term of 250 years.

We urge everyone to contact their Councillors as soon as possible.
