Do We Believe Them This Time?

Joel Nathan has told the Hereford Times that players and staff should get paid next Friday.

The paper quotes him as saying: "I have been told that things are in place to pay football creditors next Friday" before claiming that the Southern League need football creditors paid before the season starts. The date is the latest of a string of self-imposed deadlines set up, and subsequently ignored, to pay sums owed from March and before.

Tommy Agombar first met staff on Wednesday, May 28th and told them they were to be paid that week. Since then another half dozen dates have come and gone without payments being made to the majority of people. Claims that cheques were to be sent this past Monday proved to be the latest broken promise.

Unfortunately, in the absence of any official information from the Southern League - who have repeatedly ignored requests for a statement - the staff, players, and fans of the club will have no idea whether to believe the latest deadline or not.
